If you came for an overnight stay Camp Cedar is a splendid location to camp; do check out Wedge Pond, it's a lovely lake. Summertime at Aberjona Pond arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 60's. For the period of the wintertime this place gets highs in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Aberjona Pond. | | Pond Dam has glorious water scenery and it's near Aberjona Pond, and some great nature is available in Brooks-Parkhurst Town Forest. Here at Aberjona Pond you'll most likely meet some folks from Boston-Cambridge-Quincy; after a long day outdoors Comfort Inn Woburn is a perfect place to spend a night or two. at nearby Stoneham Oaks Golf Course is a delightful way to kill some time. The view of Andrews Hill from Aberjona Pond is lovely, and a good close by hotel is Best Western New Englander. This lake is so wonderful. Paddling on
Charles River is so much fun; Camp Micah is a glorious local campground. While you're here at Aberjona Pond, you could also have a look at scenic Judkins Pond; a spree to Boston Harbor Islands National Recreation Area is recommended.
Gotta ski! Blue Hills is a good location to do that, and a range like the Middlesex Fells is always picturesque.

Lake Cochichewick
 | 12 miles away Lake Cochichewick formerly known as Great Pond, is located near the inersections of rt 125 and Great Pond Road in North Andover MA. The lake is a little over 200 acres and long and narrow but widens quite a bit in the middle. The average depth near in the midde is about 40ft however the lake can reach depths of up to 60ft. The lake is a protected reservoir so fishing and boating are by town permit only. Swimming and gas moters are prohibited. Large and small mouth bass are in decent numbers as well as perch, pickerel, sunfish, also there is Northern Pike around but few have hooked up one in the summer season. Mercury level are fairly high so it is recomended to limit the consumption of fish to 1 meal a month. Most of the locals you will meet on the lake are all artificial bait, catch and release fisherman.... |
