Lakes are such calm places, why not take a look at Black Lake close to West Ponds; if you're visiting from Picayune, you won't be the only one. This lake is so wonderful. A great place to camp here at West Ponds is Lazy-j Campgrounds, and why not go to a swamp like Jenkins Ridge Bayou if you're here at West Ponds. High temperatures at West Ponds throughout the summer are in the 90's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures                  plunge down into the 60's. Through the wintertime the highs are regularly in the 50's with winter lows in the 30's overnight here at West Ponds.
