I don't want to stop, cause I'm havin' a tremendous time here at Vernon Lake. An exciting thing to pop by in close proximity to Vernon Lake is Vernon Lake Dam. There's so much to do here at Vernon Lake that you need to camp here for a while, South Toledo Bend State Park is a brilliant spot for that, and Leesville-Days Inn is a great place to get some rest. All the water falling down from the sky makes Vernon Lake a wet location;       December is the wettest month with most rain; the driest month of the year is September. If you need a site to stay Best Western Stagecoach Inn is a pleasant choice; you're probably addicted to lakes, Anacoco Lake is one of those close by. At Vernon Lake throughout the summer highs are in the 90's. When the night sets in temperatures fall down into the 60's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 50's, and through the dark hours in the winter at Vernon Lake                  temperatures dip to the 30's. East Anacoco Creek is a good site to stop at, and the nice people of Fort Polk South like to hang out close by. This lake is so wonderful.
