Swamps like Bayou Canard Gris are fun to pop by; Grand Lake is a good lake close by. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Holiday Inn Express Harvey- Marrero, La is a great site to spend a night or two, and why not camp at Hassel's Trailer Park while you're here at Sun Lagoon. Life's too short to enjoy all the cool stuff in close proximity to Sun Lagoon. Sun Lagoon is a rather wet place frequently       with a lot of rainfall; the month with most of the rain is July, and October is when it's the driest. Camping at Sun Lagoon is magnificent fun, Willow Mar Travel Park is a magnificent local campground; if time allows, Jean Lafitte National Historic Park & Preserve is a national park worth visiting. At Sun Lagoon during the warm months highs are in the 90's. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 70's. Highs during the wintertime are frequently in the 60's                  with temperatures at Sun Lagoon dipping down into the 40's through winter nights.
