A great deal of rain falls at Slagle Lake; throughout December this area sees the most rain, and the driest of the months is August. A wonderful nearby hotel is Leesville-Days Inn, and not far from Slagle Lake you'll locate Alligator Lake which is a beautiful lake. During your spree to Slagle Lake you'll meet some people from Fort Polk South for sure, and going for a hike on the Whisky       Chitto Trail is always a good adventure. This lake is so wonderful. Why not camp at Shady Lake Recreational Vehicle Park while you're here at Slagle Lake, and as expected Big Branch flows through this region. If you want a good time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Slagle Lake. Go for a hike on the Big Branch Trail. If you need a place to stay Best Western Stagecoach Inn is a good choice; Diamond's RV Park and Campground is a perfect local campground.                  Summer brings highs in the 90's to Slagle Lake, and all through summer nights temperatures are in the 70's.
