Shad Lake is a relatively wet place generally with lots of rain; through the month of December you get the most rain around here; the driest month is August. There are other spots here than Shad Lake, for example Burr Lake. Summertime brings highs in the 90's to Shad Lake. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 70's. Throughout       the winter highs are typically in the 50's while Shad Lake nighttime low temperatures through the wintertime are in the 30's. This lake is so wonderful. Swamps don’t sound that great but Chapman Bay right next door to Shad Lake is rather great, and as expected Big Bayou is a pretty stream that is worth checking out.
