Be careful coming to Richardson Lake, you might not ever want to go back home again. After a long day outdoors Days Inn - Picayune is a magnificent site to spend a night or two. You'll meet a lot of people from Bogalusa here; Clear water Creek       Resort is a nice campground nearby. Richardson Lake regularly gets a great deal of rain; the wettest month of the year is generally March, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest month is October. This lake is so wonderful. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop by nearby Pool Lake, and why not explore a swamp like Ox Lot Slough since you're here at Richardson Lake.
