The Pen is a wet location that gets a large amount of precipitation; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain; the driest of the months is October. Just can't get enough of The Pen. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Best Western Westbank is a perfect spot to spend a night or two, and if       you haven’t been to Jean Lafitte National Historic Park & Preserve, you should schedule some time for it if you're here. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 90's to The Pen. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 70's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 60's with temperatures at The Pen dipping down into the 40's through winter nights. Camping is available at Marrero Travel Park, and there are plenty of people from New Orleans -Metairie-Kenner                  here at The Pen.
