Why not stop by Old River if you're passing through these parts. Old River is a wet place that gets a great deal of rainfall; the month of November is the wettest with most of the rain; August is the month with the least moisture. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 90's to Old River while overnight lows are regularly in the 70's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 50's with temperatures at Old River dipping down into the 30's during

| | winter nights. Posten Bayou is a pretty stream that is worth taking a look at, and if you came to camp Potter's Point Marina is a great site to do that.
After a long day outdoors Holiday Motel is a perfect place to spend a night or two. You'll discover a scenic lake called Halfmoon Lake near Old River, and Old River is pleasant enough to spend more than a day at, Cypress-black Bayou Recreation is a pleasant local campground. This lake is so wonderful. A glorious close by hotel is Country Inn Motel; don't leave Old River without first checking out Boom Bend.
