Murphys Lake is a wet place that gets much precipitation; during the month of       December you get the most rain around here, and August is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Murphys Lake you can take a hike along the Dogwood Trail, and Chaplin Lake is a nearby lake that you could explore. After a long day outdoors Travelodge Natchitoches is a great place to spend a night or two, and during your tour here you'll meet some folks from Natchitoches for sure.
