Moon Lake is splendid enough to spend more than a day at, Sawmill Town Campground Resort is a splendid local campground, and on a great day you can take a hike along the Trout Creek Nature Trail. The high level of rainfall makes Moon Lake a relatively wet place; most of the rain falls through December; the driest month is August. Bridge Creek is a gorgeous stream that is worth taking a look at.       During your journey to Moon Lake you'll meet some folks from De Ridder for sure, unsurprisingly you could also stop by Eaves Old River if you're here; it's not far at all. At Moon Lake during the summertime highs are in the 90's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 70's. For the period of the winter the highs are mostly in the 50's; after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Moon Lake descend into the 30's. This                  lake is so wonderful.
