This lake is so wonderful. The view of charming McAlpine Hill near Mitchell Lake is pleasant, and Jack Luke Lake is a nearby lake that you could stop by. Mitchell Lake gets a good deal of water; the wettest month of the year is frequently December, that's the one that rains the most, and       the driest month of the year is August. But wait, there's more to do close to Mitchell Lake. You'll meet a lot of folks from Alexandria here. There's so much to do here at Mitchell Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Cotile Recreation Area is a fine place for that, and on a perfect day you can take a hike along the Lake Nature Trail. For the duration of the warm days of summer highs here at Mitchell Lake get into the 90's, and the night is quite                  cooler of course, generally in the 70's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 50's; nighttime lows in the 30's for Mitchell Lake.
