Custom Search     Lower Caney Lake     Life's too short to enjoy all the amusing stuff close to Lower Caney Lake. Head out on the striking water at Camp Joy Marina; there's some flowing water close by, Brushy Creek is a stream you can check out while you're here. For you golfers we recommend nearby Pine Hills Country Club; at Lower Caney Dam close to Lower Caney Lake there are some interesting things to see. This lake is so wonderful. Lower Caney Lake is splendid enough to spend more than a day     at, Woods Ranch Recreational Vehicle Park is a splendid local campground. Holiday Inn Express MINDEN is a delightful site to get some rest, and you're sure to bump into some good folks from Minden here.   Fairly well secluded campsites and clean. All state maintained. The lake is covered in Lilly Pad and water color is generaly like coffee, and was down in the center where a man could walk all the way across as little as two weeks ago. The recent rain may have brought it up, but the bite for Largemouth has been good. The day use areas was closed, last I heard, but the lowere end boat ramp was used. Here is a pic of the bream and two channel cats from August. It was 99 degrees, but we couldn't stop.
