A visit to Irwin Lake is always a good idea. Camping at Cottonland Inn is always a delightful experience; a perfect close by hotel is Ramada Inn. A perfect place to camp here at Irwin Lake is Monroe Kampground, and after a long day outdoors Days Inn is a glorious location to spend a night or two. Irwin Lake is a rather wet place usually with a large amount of rain; March is the wettest month with most rain; August is when it's the driest.

| | at Irwin Lake you will meet lots of people from nearby Bastrop. Summertime highs at Irwin Lake usually tend to be in the 90's, and the overnight is a bit colder of course, ordinarily in the 70's. All through the wintertime highs are mostly in the 50's, and after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Irwin Lake descend into the 30's. This lake is so wonderful. There are other sites here than Irwin Lake, for example Little Lake Lafourche, and playing golf is lots of fun at Boeuf River Country Club.
