Cypress Bayou Reservoir
10 miles away I absolutely love this lake! I went with a friend to Lousiana and we went here, it was so fun!...
Lake Bistineau
14 miles away 1 PHOTO Lake Bistineau is one of the most beautiful places to fish, any time of the year. Popular for Largemouth Bass and Crappie. At Port of Bistineau, when the bite is on for Crappie, it is not unusual to see 50 boats in the same area! The attached picture were of the only two Crappie we caught this morning, but several people told us the Bass were ON that day and several boats at the ramp said it was good for them. One guy had 32 Largemouth boated and 4 were over 4 pounds and 2 over 5!! Wish I hadda been Bass fishing that day. These Crappie are the usual, and 2 1/2 pounders are common too! If you ever have the opportunity, come and hang around with the peat moss. You will have a good time here, no matter what you are fishing for!...
Cross Lake
16 miles away Yea, there's a lot to do on Cross Lake! I've personally been kayaking, jet skiing, boating, and swimming in the lake, and I hear it's a great fishing lake, too. I don't however know if there is a canoe rental place, but it wouldn't surprise me. It is more of a boating, water-sports place more than kayaking and canoeing.. It is a very popular sailing location though!...I would like to know if there is some where to have a wedding/reception on the lake....It would be nice if there was information about recreational activities. Such as boating, kayaking, canoeing etc. Are there avenues to pursue those interests? Canoe rentals, etc....
Lower Caney Lake
19 miles away 1 PHOTO Fairly well secluded campsites and clean. All state maintained. The lake is covered in Lilly Pad and water color is generaly like coffee, and was down in the center where a man could walk all the way across as little as two weeks ago. The recent rain may have brought it up, but the bite for Largemouth has been good. The day use areas was closed, last I heard, but the lowere end boat ramp was used. Here is a pic of the bream and two channel cats from August. It was 99 degrees, but we couldn't stop. We fished in the heat so long it felt like a powerful hangover the next day. 286 bream, 2 cats, by 2 dudes, in 1 day!!!...
