Go to Eagle Lake if you want to go to a nice lake. This lake is so wonderful. Lake One is a nearby lake that you could explore, and since you're here, you could also pop by picturesque Willow Lake. After a long day outdoors Tallulah-Days Inn is a great site to spend a night or two, and during your spree here you'll meet some people from Tallulah for sure. Dry warm beds await you at Don Hall S Guesthouse, and a visit to Poverty Point National Monument is recommended.

Cabin Teele Crevasse
 | 11 miles away Richard, from what I understand the lake at Cabin Teele was created by the break itself. I have been doing some research on levee breaks and the larger ones (like Cabin Teele and Mounds Landing in Mississippi) usually gouge out a lake when it breaks. Shoot me an e-mail at dougwilhite@hotmail.com and we can discuss further if you would like. Thanks....Sirs: How far from the actual 1927 levee break at Cabin Teele is Cabin Teele Crevasse - if that is a formal place name? Richard Hanlin hanlin@aol.com... |
