Sure, Mathews Brake is close to Chatlin Lake, and if you came for an overnight stay Indian Creek Recreation Area is a good location to camp. Summertime highs at Chatlin Lake typically tend to be in the 90's. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 70's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 50's; night lows through the winter for Chatlin Lake tend to be in the 30's. This lake is so wonderful. Chatlin Lake is a wet       site that gets much rainfall; the wettest month of the year is frequently December, that's the one that rains the most while October is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Calahan Bayou is a lovely stream that is worth taking a look at, and after a long day outdoors Days Inn Alexandria                  is a splendid spot to spend a night or two. Don't stop me now, cause I'm havin' a fine time here at Chatlin Lake. The Magnolia Forest Walk offers hiking at its best, and a wonderful swamp next to Chatlin Lake is Back Bayou. You could also pop by Compton Lake if you're here at Chatlin Lake; it's nearby, and there are plenty of folks from Alexandria here.
