There are delightful spots to discover along the Dogwood Trail; Kisatchie Bayou Campground is a great local campground. High temperatures at Brown Lake through the warmest time of the year are in the 90's, and through the night it cools down to the 70's. Highs through the wintertime are usually in the 50's with temperatures at Brown Lake dipping down into the 30's all through winter nights. This lake is so wonderful.       Kisatchie National Forest is a fine site to stretch your legs a bit, and Nakatosh Campground is a good campground nearby. This is a nice vicinity for folks who like lakes. Chico Lake is a lake around here; Travelodge Natchitoches is a splendid spot to get some rest. Little River is a stream that you may come across while you're here, and after a long day outdoors Ramada Inn Natchitoches is a pleasant spot to spend a night or two. Man, is there heaps of                  cool things to do in the neighborhood of Brown Lake. At Brown Lake you always meet someone from Cloutierville, and a swamp like Clear Lake near Brown Lake has lots of out of the ordinary things to see.
