Going for a hike on the Sabine National Forest Trail is always a wonderful adventure, and after a long day outdoors McKay House is a magnificent site to spend a night or two. During the warm days of summer highs here at Boggy Lake reach the 90's. For the duration of the moonlight hours it's usually in the 60's. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a place to stay Cypress Bend Resort is a wonderful choice; Huxley Bay Marina is a nice campground nearby. Not sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this place. Swamps like Kilgore Slough are fun to take a look at, and do stop at Saline Lake, it's a striking lake.
