Dry warm beds await you at Days Inn Alexandria, and if you came to camp Chicot State Park is a great location to do that. Not far from Blue Lake you find Bennett Bay; there is a good hiking trail close by called the Wild Azalea Trail Kincaid Spur. Blue Lake is a pretty       wet place typically with much rainfall; December is when you get the most rain here, and the driest of the months is October. All through the summer months at Blue Lake highs are typically in the 90's; the night is a bit chillier of course, generally in the 70's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 50's with winter lows in the 30's overnight here at Blue Lake. So much fun stuff to do at Blue Lake, so little time. After a long day outdoors The Bailey Hotel                  is a good spot to spend a night or two; some of the water nearby flows, like Hurricane Creek. The Wild Azalea Trail is a perfect hiking trail close to Blue Lake, and a fine swamp near Blue Lake is Cocodrie Swamp. This lake is so wonderful. Do check out Hubbard Brake close to Blue Lake, it's a gorgeous lake, and if the weather is great, you can go for a hike along the Magnolia Forest Walk.
