Went today I really enjoyed. They have really nice boat ramps. I plan on going back with the kids. I live below Minden, but its well worth the drive.

     There's some flowing water close by, Salt Creek is a stream you can visit while here, obviously you could also check out Blue Lake while you're here; it's not far at all. The high level of precipitation makes Black Lake a pretty wet place; throughout the month of May you get the most rain around here; August meanwhile is the driest month. Through the summertime, highs typically are in the 90's at Black Lake. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into  
   the 60's. Highs through the winter are mostly in the 50's, and winter nights come with lows in the 30's to Black Lake. If you want a delightful time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Black Lake. A lake close by is Round Lake; there are plenty of folks from Natchitoches here at Black Lake.
If you need a place to stay Travelodge Natchitoches is a nice choice. There's so much to do here at Black Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Sibley
 
               Lake Mini Mart is a delightful place for that. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Super 8 Natchitoches, and a journey to nearby Campground Point is very relaxing.
If you came to camp Nakatosh Campground is a splendid place to do that, and the Dogwood Trail offers hiking at its best.

Mill Creek Reservoir runs east to west, is about 2.5 miles long and 1/4 miles wide with good water quality.  Eastern end of lake is 20-30ft deep.  Western end uncleared submerged forest. Good fishing....
