This lake is so wonderful. Hassel's Trailer Park is a great campground nearby, and after a long day outdoors Best Western Westbank is a great place to spend a night or two. Big Mar regularly gets a great deal of rainfall; the month with most of the rain is July; the driest of the months is October.       St. Bernard State Park is a fine local campground, and if you need a location to stay Holiday Inn Express HARVEY-MARRERO is a nice choice. Through the summer months, highs ordinarily are in the 90's at Big Mar. Summer overnight lows plunge down to the 70's. Highs during the winter are generally in the 60's, and overnight lows during the winter for Big Mar tend to be in the 40's. You'll come across a gorgeous lake called Charley Pond near Big Mar, and a round                  of golf at nearby Hidden Oaks Golf Course is a good way to kill some time.
