On a great day you can pop by Blue Hole Bayou, a swamp close to Barnes Lake, and do check out Crichton Lake, it's a scenic lake. A pleasant location to camp here at Barnes Lake is Grand Bayou Resort; don't leave Barnes Lake without first checking out The Cutoff. This lake is so wonderful. Barnes Lake mostly gets a lot of rain; May is the wettest month with most rain; August on the other hand is the driest.
