Alligator Lake gets much water; December is the wettest month with most rain while August is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This lake is so wonderful. A glorious location to camp here at Alligator Lake is Shady Lake Recreational Vehicle Park, and Castor Lake is a nearby lake that you could have a look       at. For the duration of the warmest time of the year, highs ordinarily are in the 90's at Alligator Lake, and during the night it cools down to the 70's. The winter comes with highs in the 50's while Alligator Lake overnight low temperatures all through the winter are in the 30's. Dry warm beds await you at Leesville-Days Inn, and you can go for a hike on the Whisky Chitto Trail. You're sure to encounter some good folks from Fort Polk South here; going for a hike                  on the Big Branch Trail is always a tremendous adventure. There's just no way somebody can get bored here at Alligator Lake.
