Crystal: Our family loves Wood Creek Lake!  It's a wonderful family spot...we boat, fish, swim.  And, it's very peaceful!  We love having a vacation home there and go as often as possible!! Keith: Fish:  Bass (state record with thursday tourney all summer)  Real estate:  Very affordable lake lots with private docks.  Not too many great lots available due to steep banks but they are available if you shop around.  THe lake is not open to personal watercraft or water skiing/swimming so you do not get the motor head noisy crowd.  Most homeowners do swim on their lots. So much amusing stuff to do here in the Cumberland Plateau Mountains, too fine to be true. Begley Hollow is a great place to visit close by, and there are splendid places to look at along the Rockcastle Narrows Trail. This is such a fun lake. In case you don’t mind getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Rockcastle River; Wood Creek Lake is magnificent enough to spend more       than a day at, Westgate RV Camping is a magnificent local campground. So much exciting stuff to do at Wood Creek Lake, so little time. If you need a spot to stay Days Inn London KY is a brilliant choice, and don't leave Wood Creek Lake without first going for a hike along the Cane Creek Trail. Through the months of summer, highs generally are in the 80's at Wood Creek Lake; the nighttime is somewhat chillier of course, ordinarily in the 60's. Daytime highs                  during the winter are in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Wood Creek Lake are in the 20's. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Wood Creek Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Holly Bay Campground is a splendid place for that, and needless to say Big Branch flows through this area. Man, is there plenty of enjoyable things to do in the Cumberland Plateau Mountains. You'll meet a lot of people from London here, and Budget Host Westgate Inn is a great place to get some rest. Wood Creek Lake is a relatively wet place frequently with much precipitation; March is the wettest month with most rain, and October on the other hand is the driest. Going for a hike on the Winding Stain Gap Trail is always a delightful adventure; whitewater paddling is good on Laurel River.   Days Inn London KY, London 3 miles away Indoor Heated Pool.
