This lake is located in the wonderful Cumberland Plateau Mountains. The amount of rainfall that falls at Thelma Lake is close to the national average; July is the wettest month with most rain while January is typically the driest month. At Thelma Lake you can observe Bettys Knob, and not far from Thelma Lake you'll stumble on Dewey Lake which is a pretty lake. This lake is so wonderful. Thelma       Lake is nice enough to spend more than a day at, Camp Caleb is a nice local campground; why not a little side tour to Baker Branch. If you're a golfer then a good close by course is Paintsville Country Club, and if you came to camp Shawnee Campground is a fine location to do that. If you want a fine time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Thelma Lake. If you need a location to stay Ramada Inn Of Paintsville is a fine choice. During the summertime                  months highs here at Thelma Lake reach the 80's. Summer night lows drop down to the 60's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 40's, and nighttime lows in the 10's for Thelma Lake. Be careful coming to the Cumberland Plateau Mountains, you might not ever want to return back home again.
