| | All the water falling down from the sky makes Silver Lake a wet location; the month with most of the rain is May, and January on the other hand is the driest. This lake is so wonderful. Glass Pond is a tremendous lake next to Silver Lake, and Duckers Lake Golf Course is a golf course close by. North Elkhorn Creek is a perfect place to pop by; lakes are such serene places, why not pop by Clifton Road Lake. Whohoo, so many exciting things in one place! Silver | |

Lake is so good! The top of The Backbone is easily made out from Silver Lake; paddling on Elkhorn Creek is so much fun. Get soaked paddling on Glenn's Creek, and camping is available at Kentucky River Camp Grounds. Here at Silver
Lake there are plenty of folks from Frankfort; after a long day outdoors Bluegrass Inn is a perfect place to spend a night or two.

 | I like this trip, except for the portage around the dam it's a great ride, and a good way to learn reading a river. We always go the entire 13 miles back to the outfitter, the second half is primarily flat water but a nice float. ... |

Gilbert Creek
 | 12 miles away I currently live on the creek and when it rains hard it is easily a class III. I've run it several times and it is definitely a difficult, but fun, run...I just so happenned to google Gilberts Creek. I was raised on Gilberts creek and I have walked every inch of the creek many times. To say it is whitewater is pretty funny, except where the river runs into the Kentucky River you can't float a boat on Gilberts creek. Most of the creek is barely ankle deep. You may want to check your info. FYI. WH.... |
