Matthews Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Cummins Ferry Campground And Marina is a great local campground; a round of golf at nearby The Brook Golf Course is a perfect way to kill some time. Glenn's Creek is a good whitewater spot in the vicinity of Matthews       Lake, and Best Western Parkside Inn is a wonderful place to get some rest. Matthews Lake is a wet place that gets a good deal of precipitation; May is the month that gets the most rain; the driest month of the year is January. For the duration of the summer highs here at Matthews Lake get into the 80's, and the night is fairly chillier of course, mostly in the 60's. The winter brings highs down to the 40's with temperatures at Matthews Lake dipping down                  into the 10's throughout winter nights.
