Laurel River Lake is a beautiful lake in the Cumberland Plateau Mountains. You can run the rapids of Laurel River in close proximity to Laurel River Lake, and after a long day outdoors Cumberland Falls State Resort Park is a great place to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. Nearby lakes? Sure, Wilton Lake is in the vicinity of Laurel River Lake, and lots of folks from Corbin come here.       Having a wonderful time at Laurel River Lake is easy. Stay the night at Grove Campground Area, of course you could also go to Wood Creek Lake since you're here; it's not far at all. You'll really wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the exciting stuff in the Cumberland Plateau Mountains. Ben Branch flows through this vicinity, and Laurel River Lake is a good spot to visit for more than one day, Twin Branch Shelter Campground is a good spot to camp nearby.                  All the water falling down from the sky makes Laurel River Lake a wet place; May is when you get the most rain here while October is commonly the driest month. Don't leave Laurel River Lake without first going for a hike along the Sheltowee Trace Trail; some attention-grabbing geology is available here, Long Bend is right here. This lake is so wonderful. There's glorious hiking along the Bark Camp Trail; Bark Camp Creek is a perfect whitewater spot nearby. For the duration of the summer months highs here at Laurel River Lake get into the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 60's. Highs through the wintertime are typically in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Laurel River Lake. That right there is loads of amusing stuff already but it goes on, the Cumberland Plateau Mountains has it all.
