    Lake Polliwog is a lake worth visiting. High temperatures at Lake Polliwog all through the long summer days are in the 80's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 60's. All through the wintertime the highs are ordinarily in the 30's, and night lows in the 10's for Lake Polliwog. Looking for something right next door to Lake Polliwog? Railroad Lake is around here, and camping is available at Crittenden Koa Kampground. This lake  
   is so wonderful. Microtel Inn Dry Ridge is a wonderful place to get some rest, and get soaked paddling on Gunpowder Creek.
Camping at I-75 Camper Village is always a magnificent experience, and after a long day outdoors Super 8 Motel - Dry Ridge is a great place to spend a night or two. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this place. Lake Polliwog sees pretty high levels of precipitation; the month with most of the rain is March; the driest month of the
 
               year is January.
Paddling on Banklick Creek is so much fun, as expected you could also stop at Bolz Lake if you're here; it's not far at all.

wow thats crazy......r and when we came throuh ole gunpowder was cooking pretty good we went and got his canoe and put in at the bridge thier at camp ernst rd. the water was white caping man we were moving really fast it was great. we went about a mile when we saw a tree that had fallen all the way across the creek we started to paddle for the bank when we got up to the bank i push to get us on the bank and my paddle broke in half in my hand. so here we are about a mile down creek with one paddle.so much for old wooded paddles we packed the canoe around the tree and put back in well needless to say its hard to steer a canoe with one paddle . we met the first tree limb that was hanging over it knock our butts out of the boat .were going down the creek with the canoe upside down . there is no getting your footing . we finally got to a calm spot i guess a deep pool were we could get to the bank flip the canoe upright and proceed again it wasnt very long til the same type of deal happend again this time leaving the canoe pinned against a tree. the water was rushing in were you could not free it. finally t...
