The high level of precipitation makes Lake Barkley a quite wet place; March is the wettest month with most rain; October is the month with the least moisture. A great nearby hotel is Inn By The Lake; folks from Murray love to come here. Summer at Lake Barkley arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 60's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 40's, and nighttime lows at Lake       Barkley during the wintertime ordinarily descend into the 20's. But wait, there's more to do right next door to Lake Barkley. Very brilliant water scenery is available at Barkley Dam in the neighborhood of Lake Barkley; Lake Barkley is right by the Hematite Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Take a side trip to Flat Creek, and you'll find a beautiful lake called Gray Slough. Do go to Kentucky Lake right next door to Lake Barkley, it's a gorgeous lake, and Double                  Creek is in the vicinity and always great to take a look at. This lake is so wonderful. A pleasant site to camp here at Lake Barkley is Lighthouse Landing; do take a hike on the Scout Trail.
