     The beauty of Energy Lake attracts many people from all around. Crooked Creek flows through this vicinity, and Honker Lake is a good lake close by. A splendid place to visit close to Energy Lake is Boardinghouse Hollow, and if the weather is nice, you can go for a hike along the Buffalo Trail. This lake is so wonderful. A visit to close by Crooked Creek Bay is very relaxing.
For the duration of the days of summer here at Energy Lake, high temperatures typically
 
   get into the 80's with night lows in the 60's. During the winter highs are in the 40's; nighttime lows at Energy Lake through the winter commonly drop into the 20's. This lake is so wonderful. Lake Barkley State Resort is a great site to get some rest. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Energy Lake has to offer, you can camp at Goose Hollow Camp Ground & Recreational Vehicle. Have a fine hiking adventure along the Hematite Trail. There's so  
               much to do here at Energy Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Kamptown Rv Resort is a glorious place for that.
Just can't get enough of Energy Lake. While you're here at Energy Lake you can take a hike along the Scout Trail, and there are other locations here than Energy Lake, for example Hematite Lake. The high level of rainfall makes Energy Lake a pretty wet spot; the month with most of the rain is December; the driest month is October. Dry warm beds await you at Country Hearth Inn Eddyville, and Energy Lake is a spot with many visitors from Murray.

Hematite Trail
The Hematite lake ''loop'' trail offers a nice and easy 2.2 mile day hike. Most of the trail is lakeside and offers many areas to watch water foul, in fact there is a blinded dock that is connected to shore by a 100' wooden foot bridge. The careful eye may also pick up on the attractive blue slag stones, remnants of the iron industry that thrived in LBL until the late 1800's. Part of the trail even takes you on a tour of the swampish inlet of the lake, via a foot bridge that is nearly water level. Finally wear sturdy footware, there be snakes in them woods....
