Dietz Lake is not far at all from Cincinnati-Middletown, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Little Miami River. This is no place for people who don’t like to enjoy themselves. There's whitewater on Banklick Creek for all you adrenaline junkies, and Hickory Sticks Golf Club is a golf course nearby. Miami Trails Hoa is a good campground nearby; if you get bored of Dietz Lake you could also explore nearby Milburn

| | Lake. High temperatures at Dietz Lake throughout the long summer days are in the 80's with nighttime lows in the 60's. Through the winter highs are in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Dietz Lake.

Horner Run

Horner is a great run with 3 major drops from 6 feet to 10-11 feet, the only problem is the take out. First you could carry the mile and a half out a trail on river left, or go under interstate 275 through a 100 yard long tunnel scout the tunnel first for strainers, third you could walk several hundred yards up to 275 and get out on the interstate shoulder. With all this in mind you might as well say forget Horner and head for Halls creek or Hershel run. Both have way easier put-in's and take out's... |
