Do stop by Hawkins Pond right next door to Clear Creek Lake, it's a beautiful lake, and if you came to camp Zilpo Camp Ground is a nice site to do that. So much cool stuff to do in the Cumberland Plateau Mountains, not sufficient time. A great place near Clear Creek Lake is Hicks Hollow; whitewater paddling is good on Red River. On a perfect day at Clear       Creek Lake you can take a hike along the Carrington Rock Trail. The Cumberland Plateau Mountains scenery is always beautiful. During the long summer days, highs typically are in the 80's at Clear Creek Lake with night lows in the 60's. Daytime highs throughout the winter are in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Clear Creek Lake are in the 10's. So much fun stuff to do at Clear Creek Lake, so little time. There is a glorious hiking trail near Clear                  Creek Lake called the Buck Branch Trail, and camping at The Outpost Campground is always a magnificent experience. You'll meet a lot of folks from Mount Sterling here, and playing golf is lots of fun at Carrington Green Golf Course. This lake is so wonderful. Take a little journey to Clear Creek since you're here at Clear Creek Lake, and since you're here, you could also stop at lovely Spring Grove Lakes. This lake is so wonderful. Near Clear Creek Lake you come across the Cross Over Trail which is a great hiking trail; dry warm beds await you at Quality Inn Morehead. There's no way someone can get bored here in the Cumberland Plateau Mountains.
