If you want a great time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Campton Lake. Bear Branch is a pleasant local stream; if you're dropping by from Mount Sterling, you won't be the only one. That right there is a heap of entertaining stuff already but it goes on, the Cumberland Plateau Mountains has it all. Going for a hike along the Swiftcamp Creek Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region. Get drenched       paddling on Red River, and camping at Middle Fork Campground is always a great experience. This lake is so wonderful. Comfort Inn & Suites is a pleasant location to get some rest; don't leave Campton Lake without first checking out Rock Bridge Arch. This lake is one of the great places here in the Cumberland Plateau Mountains. Campton Lake commonly gets a good deal of precipitation; most of the rain falls throughout July while October is the month with the                  least amount of precipitation. If you need a site to stay Natural Bridge State Resort Park is a perfect choice, and hiking along the Rock Bridge Trail is tremendous fun. Summertime at Campton Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. Summer overnight lows dip down to the 60's. Through the winter highs are in the 40's, and after the sun is down all through the wintertime temperatures at Campton Lake plunge into the 10's. Be careful coming to the Cumberland Plateau Mountains, you might not ever wanna return back home again.
