Applegate Run is a good local stream, and dry warm beds await you at Best Western Dixie Inn. Camping is available at Gospel Campground, and after a long day outdoors Comfort Inn Louisville is a wonderful spot to spend a night or two. You assume that's enough? Just getting warmed up. For the period of the summer at Bennett Lake temperatures are regularly in the 80's; through summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. For the period of the wintertime highs are mostly in the 30's, and after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Bennett Lake drop into the 20's. This lake is so wonderful. Camping at Village Mobile Home and Camper is always a nice experience; from Bennett Lake you get a
magnificent sight of Cundiff Hill. Do explore Elmo Lake in the vicinity of Bennett Lake, it's a charming lake, and Headley Hollow is nearby, and is a good site.
