South Lake really is in the middle of a striking outdoors paradise. Stay the night at Lawrence/Kansas City KOA. This lake is so wonderful. There are some wonderful whitewater spots on Kansas River; for you golfers we recommend close by Gardner Golf Course. The annual precipitation here at South Lake is about average;       through the month of June you get the most rain around here while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. At South Lake all through the warmest time of the year highs are in the 90's. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 60's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 30's; nighttime lows during the winter for South Lake tend to be in the 10's. Hillsdale State Park is a delightful campground                  nearby, and do take a look at Gardner Lake, it's a pretty lake.
