It's always perfect to check out Barrel Springs, and       not far from Lake Scott you'll find Barrel Springs Trout Pond which is a beautiful lake. Why not stop at Scott County State Park Dam if you're here; dry warm beds await you at Econo Lodge Oakley. Lake Scott gets very little precipitation; the wettest month of the year is typically May, that's the one that rains the most while February is regularly the driest month. All through the months of summer highs here at Lake Scott reach the 90's. Summer nighttime lows fall                  down to the 60's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Lake Scott are in the 10's.
