Having a good time at Santa Fe Lake is trouble-free. A round of golf at nearby Gardner Golf Course is a glorious way to kill some time, and a great spot for whitewater paddling is Kansas River. This lake is so wonderful. Cottonwood Camping is a nice local campground, and obviously Martin Creek is a pretty stream that is       worth taking a look at. From a precipitation point of view Santa Fe Lake is a reasonably typical place; throughout the month of June you get the most rain around here; February meanwhile is the driest month. Why not camp at Hillsdale State Park since you're here at Santa Fe Lake, and if you need a spot to stay Super 8 Gardner is a good choice. A lake nearby is Gardner Lake, and Super 8 De Soto is a good location to get some rest. Through the warmest time of                  the year highs here at Santa Fe Lake reach the 90's. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 60's.
