Camping is available at Woodland Acres, and good skiing awaits you at Snow Creek. After a long day outdoors Shawnee Hampton Inn is a fine place to spend a night or two, and if you come at the right time of year, Blue River offers some nice whitewater. This lake is so wonderful. There are plenty of people from Kansas City here at Quivira Lake, and camping at Walnut Grove RV Park is always a magnificent experience. And if       that's not enough, there's a load more to do right next door to Quivira Lake. Playing golf is lots of fun at Tomahawk Hills Public Golf Course, and don't forget to take a splendid little spree to Little Turkey Creek. Quivira Lake gets a normal amount of rain; the wettest month of the year is frequently September, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest month of the year is February. High temperatures at Quivira Lake all through the days of summer                  are in the 90's. Summer overnight lows sink down to the 60's. Highs during the wintertime are ordinarily in the 30's with temperatures at Quivira Lake dipping down into the 10's through winter nights.
