Man, is there lots of entertaining stuff to do next to Quivira Lake. Lakes? Sure, Black Swan Lake is close by; an afternoon playing golf at Tomahawk Hills Public Golf Course is always a delight. Get soaked paddling on Kansas River, and if you need a location to stay Courtyard by Marriott Kansas City Shawnee is a glorious choice. This lake is so wonderful. You'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at       Snow Creek while you're here; get yourself into a kayak and hit Blue River. Quivira Lake is not far at all from Kansas City. Summertime highs at Quivira Lake ordinarily tend to be in the 90's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. Highs during the wintertime are commonly in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Quivira Lake are in the 10's.
