East Mission Creek is a nice spot to check out, and a good place to camp here at Lake of the Forest is Walnut Grove RV Park. People from Kansas City love to come to Lake of the Forest, and whitewater paddling is nice on Kansas River. This lake is so wonderful. Lake of the Forest is good enough to spend more than a day at, Cottonwood Camping is a good local campground; dry warm beds await you at Chateau Avalon.       From a rainfall point of view Lake of the Forest is a relatively common spot; most of the rain falls during September while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This lake is so wonderful. Holiday Inn Express VILLAGE WEST is a glorious place to get some rest, and why not head up to Snow Creek and strap some skis to your feet. Lake of the Forest Dam is worth a visit if you're here, and Elmers Lake is a glorious lake nearby. At Lake                  of the Forest throughout the warm days of summer highs are in the 80's. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 60's. During the winter this place gets highs in the 30's, and after the sun is down throughout the winter temperatures at Lake of the Forest descend into the 10's. If you want a good time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Lake of the Forest.
