If you come at the right time of year, Kansas River offers some wonderful whitewater, and a lake nearby is Potter Lake. This is no spot for people who don’t like to have a good time. There's so much to do here at Lake View Lake that       you need to camp here for a while, Lawrence/Kansas City KOA is a brilliant site for that. Take a little trip to Buck Creek while you're here at Lake View Lake, and near Lake View Lake you stumble on a golf course called Alvamar Golf & Country Club. During the summer months highs here at Lake View Lake get into the 80's while night lows are regularly in the 60's. High temperatures throughout the wintertime are normally in the 30's; during the dark hours in                  the wintertime at Lake View Lake temperatures descend to the 10's. Lake View Lake is not far at all from Lawrence; if you need a spot to stay Westminster Inn is a nice choice.
