Atwood Lake is a location that is rather dried up typically. The wettest month of the year is usually May, that's the one that rains the most; January is the month with the least moisture. Through the days of summer highs here at Atwood Lake reach the 90's with nighttime lows in the 60's. During the wintertime the highs are mostly in the 30's, and nighttime lows at Atwood Lake through the winter ordinarily dip into the 10's.
Beautiful Lake Atwood was sealed in the fall of 2008 with soda ash in an effort to maintain a continuous water level. The lake had been dry for most of the time for many, many years.
