There's so much to do here at Whippoorwill Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Muscatatuck Park is a nice location for that, and dry warm beds await you at Comfort Inn North Vernon. Whippoorwill Lake Dam is not far at all from Whippoorwill Lake, and perhaps you're looking for nearby lakes? Sure, Hickory Lake is just a very short distance away. This lake is so wonderful. But wait, there's more to do near Whippoorwill       Lake. The smiling folks of North Vernon like to hang out nearby, and if you're a golfer then a pleasant nearby course is Ford's Crossing Golf Course. A normal amount of precipitation falls here at Whippoorwill Lake; July is when you get the most rain here, and the driest of the months is January. If you need a place to stay Comfort Inn Madison is a glorious choice; Sand Creek - Cobbs Fork has a splendid whitewater paddling spot nearby.
