Summertime at South Mud Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 60's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 20's while the cold winter nights at South Mud Lake are in the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. South Mud Lake is magnificent       enough to spend more than a day at, Lakeview Campground is a magnificent local campground, and at South Mud Lake you always meet someone from Peru. The amount of rain that falls at South Mud Lake is close to the national average; all through June this area sees the most rain, and the driest month is February. Not sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this site. A wonderful close by hotel is Comfort Inn Rochester. If you don’t have a problem getting wet, you                  can always go whitewater paddling on Pipe Creek, and SUPER 8 MOTEL - ROCHESTER is a great place to get some rest.
