An attention-grabbing thing to stop at in the vicinity of Schaefer Lake is Schaefer Lake Dam; a great close by hotel is Ramada Inn. From a rainfall point of view Schaefer Lake is a relatively normal location; the month with most of the rain is July; the driest month of the year is January. Camping at Blue Springs Park is always a wonderful experience, and there are some good whitewater spots on Clifty Creek       - Fall Fork. If you came to camp Gassaway's Campground is a nice location to do that, and if you want to play some golf, you're in luck because Otter Creek Golf Course is in the vicinity. What a site this is for outdoors people. You're sure to encounter some fine folks from Columbus here. For the duration of the summer, highs commonly are in the 80's at Schaefer Lake; during summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. During the winter this place gets highs                  in the 30's, and after the sun is down throughout the wintertime temperatures at Schaefer Lake dip into the 10's. This lake is so wonderful.
