Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Little Kentucky River; why not camp at Broomsage Ranch while you're here at Rider Lake. There's whitewater on Harrod's Creek for all you adrenaline junkies, and the friendly people of Madison like to hang out close by. Rider Lake is a wet place that gets a large amount of rainfall; July is the month that       gets the most rain, and February is when it's the driest. A great close by hotel is Comfort Inn Madison, and a pleasant place to camp here at Rider Lake is Herbland Happy Camper Campground. There's just no way anybody can get bored here at Rider Lake. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Madison, In is a great place to spend a night or two, and Spring Hills Golf Course is a golf course close by. Summertime                  highs at Rider Lake frequently tend to be in the 80's. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 60's.
