Kates Lake is a pleasant place to visit for more than one day, Summers Camp Grounds is a pleasant place to camp nearby, and West Fork Kickapoo Creek is one of the streams close by       that might be worth going to. During the long summer days highs here at Kates Lake reach the 80's, and the night is a little cooler of course, regularly in the 60's. For the period of the wintertime this place gets highs in the 30's with temperatures at Kates Lake dipping down into the 10's throughout winter nights. This lake is so wonderful.
