Pokagen State Park borders the lake in two basins.  Boat traffic is heavy on the weekends in the summer.  At all other times it is great.  There is much to do there in the winter as there is in the summer if you enjoy winter sports or other winter outdoor activities such as hiking, skating, cross country skiing, sledding, etc. The proximity of Pokagen State Park is a plus. Through the months of summer highs here at Lake James get into the 80's, and all through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. During the wintertime this place gets highs in the 30's, and during the dark hours in the wintertime at Lake James temperatures sink to the 10's. Not far from Lake James you stumble on Hells Point, and dry warm beds await you at Budgeteer Motor Inn Angola. You simply must like       Lake James. There's some flowing water close by, Follette Creek is a stream you can take a look at during your stay. There's so much to do here at Lake James that you need to camp here for a while, Fawn Forest Campground is a perfect spot for that; the smiling people of Angola like to hang out nearby. This lake is so wonderful. A golf course in close proximity to Lake James is Lake James Golf Course, and Ramada Inn Of Angola is a magnificent location to                  get some rest. An average amount of rainfall falls at Lake James; the month with most of the rain is July, and January is the month with the least moisture. If you came to camp Oakhill Family Campground and Retreat Center is a pleasant spot to do that. Lakes?
