Go to Iola Lake if you want to go to a nice lake. Do have a look at Scottsburg Water Works Dam since you're here at Iola Lake, and close by Buzz Gully is a perfect location to go. Summertime highs at Iola Lake frequently tend to be in the 80's with nighttime lows in the 60's. Through the winter the highs are frequently in the 30's, and overnight lows in the 10's for Iola Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Days Inn Scottsburg IN is a splendid spot to get some rest, and some nearby water includes Bird Run. If you need a spot to stay Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Scottsburg, In is a perfect choice, and a tremendous place to camp here at Iola Lake is Ashmoore Campground. Camping is available at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Camp-Raintree, and Forrest Helton Lake is a wonderful lake nearby.

10/03/2008 Deam Lake was hit pretty hard by the wind storm last month; many big trees were downed. I was there two weeks ago and the roads had been cleared as far as the boat dock parking lot. Beyond that point the road was closed, as was the campground. Fishing was still good near the boat ramp.... |
